Chinese Cabbage Salad


A recipe from Friendship Club’s 2004 Cookbook “Cooking with Friendship” is sure to please now that we are heading into warmer weather. Chinese Cabbage Salad has always been popular at Friendship Club’s pot luck meetings.

The Crunch

  • 2 pkgs vegetable Ramen Noodles, Broken
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 cup Sesame Seeds
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
Brown the noodles, almonds and sesame seeds in the butter. Package and store until ready to use.

Salad

  • 1 head green cabbage, shredded
  • 1/2 head red cabbage, shredded
  • 6 green onions, chopped
  • 1 carrot, shredded


Dressing

  • 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup wine vinegar
  • 1 tab Soy sauce  pepper to taste 
  • 1 flavor packet from Ramen


In large jar, mix salad oil, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, pepper and flavor packet. Shake until well blended. Pour over the cabbage mixture. Add noodle mixture. Toss well and serve.
